With Insights, Aimsio leverages Microsoft PowerBI to provide valuable analytics and embed them inside your account. Enjoy a rich experience of viewing all styles of charts and dashboards without leaving Aimsio or requiring a PowerBI license.
Insights is available as an add-on for any Aimsio account.
Access Management (PowerBI Dashboard Access)
If your account has Insights enabled, authorized users can control which dashboards are visible to other users from inside Aimsio.
- Navigate to the Access Management tab from the Insights page. Use the Action button and select Edit beside the dashboard you’d like to manage.
- Confirm which Roles should have access and click Save when finished.
Dashboard Edit Mode
- If you are an experienced PowerBI user, you can open any pre-existing dashboards in Edit Mode. Use the Action button beside any dashboard to make changes.
- Additional formatting options will become available. Filter you current dataset, add new pages and get the formatting just right.
Built-in Aimsio Reports
Whether you’re new to PowerBI or an experienced user, Aimsio will start your production account off with 5 pre-built reports.
- Overview Report - Provides a quick snapshot of some key metrics, including your top grossing ticket revenue, average days to invoice, unbilled ticket revenue and month-to-month revenue variations.
- Unbilled Tickets Report - Provides a detailed breakdown of unbilled ticket revenue (submitted tickets that do not have an associated invoice). Zero-in on problematic trends with certain clients or users.
- Revenue Report - A granular month-by-month breakdown of all ticket revenue, organized by client. Dig further into each ticket to see revenue totals by Billable Item category (ie: Labor, Equipment, Material).
- Days-to-Invoice Report - Understand a crucial part of your business, how fast you’re going from ticket to invoice. Identify problematic trends by client and monitor your firm’s performance month-by-month.
Authoring Your Own Dashboards
End-users can create charts by first selecting a source of data (e.g. Purchase Order). The system will then open a blank canvas with all the purchase order data on the right side, and the user can drag and drop different visual elements to configure their dashboard. The data behind the dashboard is updated in real-time.
See a daily breakdown of your employee hours, discover your top grossing Trades, how much you’re spending in overtime, or a summary of direct hire vs subcontractor hours.
We support advanced formula and transformations (e.g. DAX expressions) too. Users can benefit from the full power of PowerBI. However, they will need to work with an Aimsio certified third-party consultant to build these dashboards for them.
We can also allocate a PowerBI Premium Workspace and give the end user access to it. Users can either create the charts themselves, using PowerBI desktop and deploying them directly to their workspace, or they can hire an Aimsio-certified consultant to build the dashboards for them.
