Locations

Last updated: August 28, 2025

Aimsio can maintain a list of Locations (also referred to as Areas) that are referenced throughout our platform.

  • While there are different Location Types, any location can be associated with Jobs or Forms. When associated to Jobs, Locations can be used as a filter on Aimsio’s Dispatch module.

  • Locations can be associated to Equipment, Users and Employees. They can act as an assignment requirement for Compliance and are used to filter specific resources when using our Dispatch module.

Locations can be leveraged to manage multiple divisions of your business. See: How Aimsio Manages Multiple Divisions

How to Add, Edit or Delete a Location

How to Import and Export Areas

Accounts can export and import Areas for User and Employee profiles, making bulk changes possible.

Accounts will need to include a Location ‘Code’ field that accounts see when adding or editing Locations. This field acts as a unique identify and will be required to successfully import Areas when they are associated to Users or Employees on a csv file.

If necessary, Codes can be set as required before any Location can be saved. Codes must be unique and commas are not permitted in a Location Code.

After your Location Codes have been entered. Accounts can export their User or Employee profiles to csv from their Master Data page.

When editing the csv file, locate the Area Codes column and enter the corresponding Location codes, separated by a comma.

Once the csv have been imported back into Aimsio, the User or Employee profile will contain all Areas that have been associated.

csv imports will fail if any of your account’s Locations do not have a Location Code. If accounts are not updating Areas on a User or Employee profile, the Area Codes column can be removed from the csv file before importing.
